The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached a residential property in Danihama village of Hazratbal in Srinagar, listed as Khasra No. 315, under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, after obtaining prior approval from the agency’s Director General.
The property is registered to Ghulam Mohammad Mir alias Mama Gas. The NIA said its investigation established a direct link between the premises and a cross‑border conspiracy involving Lashkar‑e‑Taiba (LeT). The agency alleged the house was used regularly to shelter a Pakistani terrorist and to conceal material connected with the terrorist network.
The case was initially registered as FIR No. 24/2026 at Zakoora police station on March 31, 2026, and later taken over by the NIA as RC‑02/2026/NIA/JMU. The NIA said a search of Mir’s residence on April 6, 2026, led to the detection of two suspected Pakistani terrorists identified as Abu Hurera and Khubaib, and to the arrest of three local associates.
The agency reported recovery of an explosive‑like substance, digital devices, arms and ammunition and forged identity documents, including Aadhaar cards and passports. The NIA said the wider investigation uncovered an alleged network of local over‑ground workers (OGWs) operating in coordination with Pakistan‑based LeT handlers to facilitate infiltration, movement, shelter and logistical support for Pakistani terrorists.
The NIA said the module was dismantled during a series of operations launched on March 28 in Punjab and that investigations indicate the network had a footprint across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Haryana. The agency stated that one of the detected Pakistani operatives, Abu Hurera, had infiltrated into India in 2010 and had been operating covertly for about 16 years.
The NIA said investigations are continuing to identify other OGWs, facilitators and individuals linked to Pakistan‑based handlers.
